Lockheed Martin Communications Representative in Bethesda, Maryland

Reporting to the Manager, Integrated Communications, the person in this position is responsible for strategic, enterprise-wide employee communications in support of multiple corporate functions. This person will work with senior leaders to align enterprise-wide communications to protect and advance the Lockheed Martin brand so that audiences experience and can share a single Lockheed Martin story.

The ideal candidate is a communications generalist with experience in multiple aspects of communications who can flexibly lead and contribute to various integrated projects. This individual will integrate work among the communications team for major communications projects to ensure strategies and plans are developed and implemented effectively, coordinating messages across audiences and channels.

The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of business priorities and objectives, possess superior writing skills and an ability to interface effectively with senior leaders. The successful candidate will also excel at managing multiple deadlines in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develops and implements proactive and strategic integrated communications in support of a variety of enterprise-wide corporate functional programs (i.e., Security, Ethics, Sustainability, Internal Audit, etc.) and initiatives and other projects as assigned. • Engages employees through credible, reliable, measurable communications programs that support business objectives. • Provides expert counsel to senior leaders and managers to build communication and dialogue skills. Supports others to focus communication around the needs and preferences of their audience while helping to anticipate likely reactions to messaging. • Collaborates with communications team members and business partners to develop messages that resonate with multiple stakeholder groups. • Contributes to editorial planning, suggesting content ideas and appropriate project timelines. • Collaborates with business area communicators and functional leaders to ensure consistent implementation across the enterprise • Coordinate with other communications functions and teams on fully integrated communications strategies. • Sets up qualitative and quantitative metrics at an onset of an initiative. Continuously improves efforts by monitoring behaviors and outcomes that matter to the business.

This position is located in Bethesda, MD.

Basic Qualifications • Superior writing, editing and oral communications skills with the ability to convey highly complex information in clear, compelling ways. • Excellent strategist with keen creative instincts and expertise influencing leadership thinking in strategic communication and issues management. • Prior experience planning and developing employee-focused communications.
