Raytheon Program Manager in Herndon, Virginia

Raytheon’s High Consequence Missions (HCM) group within the Cybersecurity and Special Missions (CSM) organization is seeking a high potential person with leadership qualities to fill a key Program Manager position within the Special Missions Solutions (SMS) sub-group. SMS needs an experienced technical Program Manager to lead the execution of an established, important US Government program. The Program Manager will ensure the successful delivery of solutions to customers, foster and strengthen customer relationships, support business development, and collaborate with Raytheon contracts, finance, security, human resources, supply chain, and other functional areas as required. The Program Manager will lead and motivate Program teams of engineers and analysts to maintain high quality successful program execution. The Program Manager needs a solid information technology background, leadership capability, and a strong working knowledge of program management fundamentals and contracting with the US Government. The Program Manager will serve as the Raytheon interface to customers and the liaison between customers, the program teams, and the Raytheon functional areas. The Program manager will assign tasks to program teams, collaborate with engineers, functional area colleagues, and program management peers to provide informed execution leadership. The Program Manager will employ program management best practices to plan, schedule, and track execution and report status, risks, and opportunities to Raytheon management and to customers. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Employ program management best practices to ensure customer technical requirements and deliverables are met and programs are on schedule, within budget, and deliver a high degree of customer satisfaction Employ scheduling, workflow, and leadership skills and tools to prioritize, assign, and ensure accomplishment of key tasks Collaborate with customers to ensure a clear understanding of their needs and leverage Raytheon products and capabilities to meet those needs Work with program teams to ensure the proper resources are leveraged to plan and execute the execution of customer programs. Manage daily program operations and identify and resolve resource issues or schedule risks. Elevate problems to management as required. Work across teams and functional organizations maintain export/import (EXIM) compliance, identify, communicate, and mitigate risks, and leverage opportunities. Effectively and continuously communicate program status to customers and Raytheon management. Required Skills: Must have an active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph Motivated and skilled at managing people in addition to managing processes Willingness to undertake independent business development initiatives and support corporate customer outreach efforts 10 years of experience in program management Experience and familiarity with Government contracting with the U.S. defense and intelligence communities Experience working in collaborative mission-oriented teams comprised of teammates from other contractors and U.S. Government personnel Experience in business development and building customer relationships Excellent self-management and organizational skills, and ability to work with little direct supervision Project management skills including cost, schedule, risk, and opportunity assessment Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills and negotiation skills Solid grasp of information technology fundamentals, and ability to leverage technical analysis, presentation, project management, and financial tools Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, system integration, and system administration in Windows or Linux environments Desired Skills: Team building and motivational skills Experience managing subcontracts Experience as a technical contributor in PMP training / certification Working knowledge of Export/Import (EXIM) compliance procedures Required Education: Bachelor Degree in a technical discipline (Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, etc.) or at least 10 years of equivalent work experience 113874
