Noblis Materials Scientist / Engineer - Corrosion in Reston, Virginia
Support a Department of Defense client serving as an expert in the principles and applications of electrochemistry, failure analysis, coatings, materials science as they relate to corrosion inhibiting materials on aircraft. Work collaboratively with world–class scientists and engineers to identify, characterize, and predict failure related to corrosion and develop, transition, and deploy new technology that improve the sustainment and life of the Department’s weapons systems and platforms.
Conduct background research and assess demonstration and validation testing to determine the feasibility and application of new technological concepts relating to corrosion inhibiting materials.
Produce and present findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients. Assist with technical program management, program development, and briefing materials.
Maintain and leverage technical expertise and relationships in serving clients and provide technical and strategic assessments of new technologies in support of senior decision makers.
5+ years of experience with chemistry or material science related to corrosion on aircraft in the aerospace industry or DoD
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work within project teams with a strong desire to contribute
Specialized knowledge of corrosion science with a strong background in electrochemical techniques is required
Knowledge of failure analysis and coating technology
Experience with Non-Destructive Inspection considered a plus
Knowledge of surface engineering and materials science specifically
Ability to obtain a security clearance
