Leidos Lead Trainer in VIENNA, Virginia

Description:

The Lead Trainer (LT) will lead and manage all training requirements for the Leidos Leavenworth Consolidated Mail Outpatient Program (L-CMOP) contract. This will include ensuring the training team researches, writes, designs, develops, coordinates, produces, and deliver on-site training on system repair, maintenance, and documentation to the VA L-CMOP maintenance and IT staff. The LT shall provide all training materials and instructor materials and media. The LT will ensure training will occur and be completed during installation, testing and acceptance phase. Training is complete when trainees can demonstrate competence in all taught tasks.

The LT must have a thorough knowledge of training, curriculum development, training evaluation, a variety of learning theories (including adult learning theory and problem-based learning), and the technical aptitude to become a subject matter expert on the variety of CMOP topics and stay current as changes in automation equipment.

Other duties will include maintaining records for education activities (e.g., participant registration information, attendance, test scores, certificates, etc.); creating and administering training evaluations; and customizing training methods, delivery, and content in order to meet client and/or audience needs. The candidate will collaborate with leadership and stakeholders as required.

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge/experience in Instructional Design; skills in applying adult learning and other learning theories; training skills; assessment, analysis, and evaluation skills

  • Strong research, writing, and critical thinking skills

  • Ability to write and develop content that presents complex ideas in a clear, concise, and easy-to-understand manner, at a level appropriate for the target audience of CMOP operations and maintenance staff

  • Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface, coordinate, and work with personnel at all levels of an organization while maintaining a high level of professionalism and a strong customer focus

  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively with other members of the Training Team, as well as with the VA L-CMOP staff, subject matter experts, and the L-CMOP automation vendor

  • Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills with the ability to track numerous project details and follow through on tasks

  • Demonstrated experience with designing and delivering instructional modules and education materials (e.g., PowerPoint presentations, training manuals, and user quick reference guides, etc.)

  • Experience developing and writing goals and strong behavioral objectives that ensures the content aligns with and meets the need of the target audience

  • Ability to make decisions using sound judgment (including instructional judgment)

  • Outstanding verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Proficient user of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook

Preferred/Desired Skills:

  • Experience developing formative and/or summative evaluations for educational activities/webinars

  • Experience developing and/or facilitating live webinars

  • Proficient user of webinar software

(e.g., WebEx, GoToWebinar, GoToMeeting, Adobe Connect, DCO, or similar software)

  • Experience with Adobe Presenter, Captivate, or similar authoring software

  • Experience with various multimedia technology including voice-over sound recording

  • VA training experience is a plus

  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or other related software

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Excel

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Must be eligible for public trust clearance

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or advanced degree) in Instructional Design, Education, or a curriculum development discipline with a minimum of 8-12 years of professional experience in creating curriculum or similar.
